Maintenaince, use and cleaning of Atlas Plan, porcelain stoneware

Cover Article: Maintenaince, use and cleaning of Atlas Plan, porcelain stoneware

Atlas Plan porcelain stoneware kitchen tops are extremely easy to clean. However, it is essential to know the material, its characteristics and to have some precautions to preserve its original appearance for a long time. Atlas Plan porcelain stoneware is a material capable of withstanding bending and high breaking loads, ideal for contact with food (the surfaces remain highly hygienic and resist to high temperatures and thermal shocks), resistant to chemicals and not subject to colour alterations, resistant to scratches and daily wear.

However, the manufacturer recommends some precautions to preserve the top’s appearance and functionality intact. It is recommended to prevent collisions in the most exposed points such as corners and edges, both with and without a panel. Also avoid using metal or abrasive wool for its cleaning. It is advisable to prepare protection systems, such as wooden and / or plastic cutting boards, when cutting food on surfaces characterized by a dark colour and / or by a Lappato Lux finish. It is also not recommended to use knives with ceramic blade directly on the flat, regardless of the finish, as the hardness of the two materials is very similar.

Finally, Atlas Plan recommends to protect the surface as a precaution from direct contact with hot objects (such as pans, pots, coffee makers, etc.), preparing the use of trivets. For the repair of any superficial scratches not deep, both in the Silk and Lappato Lux finish, it is recommended to contact directly a member of the staff of the head office.

WHAT CAN RUIN ATLAS PLAN SURFACES AND WHAT CAN BE USED FOR CLEANING

For the ordinary cleaning of Atlas Plan slabs, it is recommended to remove dust with a dry and clean cloth; subsequently, we recommend the use of the ready-to-use product FILABRIO or degreasing detergent. We suggest to use the doses recommended by the manufacturer, using a microfiber cloth. In any case, to avoid extraordinary cleaning, we recommend removing any stain immediately, without letting it dry.

In the case of traces of dirt resistant to ordinary cleaning, we recommend the use of a suitable detergent according to the type of dirt. The timeliness of the cleaning action remains an important factor for the perfect success of the cleaning operation. It is suggested to carry out a preliminary test on a small stained portion, thus verifying its effectiveness, before performing the operation on the entire surface. Never use concentrated hydrochloric acid and / or caustic soda, or detergents containing hydrofluoric acid and / or its derivates.
