Help! Today I visited some kitchen shops and I was introduced to different kitchen tops, they talked about different thicknesses, they told me about 12mm and 20mm, or even about reported ones! I am confused, how much is important the thickness of the top, both aesthetically and practically? Do I have to take this into consideration? Samuele, confused, from Pordenone.

Good morning Mr. Samuele, Let’s see if we can eliminate some confusion.                                                                  The thickness of the top at a practical level has no importance, whether it is 12 mm, 20 mm, or thicker layers that in any case derive from the same slabs as before, only boxed and constructed. From an aesthetic point of view things change a lot, the current market trends are those of reducing thicknesses, going towards clean essential lines almost like blades. It is clear that there are very interesting projects where to mix in the same composition a thin thickness to a larger built one, this determines very appreciated aesthetic movements, especially in the islands and peninsulas to delimit an operational area from the snack area. But there may be many other applications. Therefore, depending on your preferences, all thicknesses have the same technical characteristics, while aesthetically you have to choose, based on what you like most.
