OKITE® is one of a kind product on the market, constituted of a high percentage of quartz (93%) with the addition of natural pigments and polyester resin. This is why OKITE® is often referred to as a quartz-resin surface. OKITE® is an extremely resistant surface (up to 5 time more than marble and granite). Since it is not porous, it is easy to clean and it does not request any maintenance. OKITE® is scratch, heat, spots resistant and not flammable. Coffee, lemon, oil, vinegar: no liquid nor food is absorbed therefore the probability of developing noxious bacteria is almost zero. OKITE® is certified as a safe and hygienic product as it does not request any additional chemical protection.
WHAT DOES RUIN THE OKITE® SURFACE AND WHAT CAN BE USED TO CLEAN IT.
Although OKITE® can stand high temperatures for short periods of time, its performance might vary depending on a number of factors such as thickness, color, position etc. It is therefore not advisable to leave the product in contact with a heat source for a long period of time. It is equally not advisable to place hot pots, pans, fryers etc. on it. Therefore, in these situations the use of pot mats is recommended. The OKITE® top well stands scratches and abrasions caused by kitchen utensils yet to ensure a longer duration of the original aspect of the top, we advise You to always use chopping boards. The products to be avoided in order not to ruin the beauty of the OKITE® tops are: bleach; alkaline products; polish solvents; hydrofluoric acid; dichloromethane; caustic soda; In case there are accidental spills on the surface, it is sufficient to dry the liquid with the kitchen roll and proceed with the regular cleaning with a cloth soaked with hot water and a liquid cleanser. OKITE®s a very limited maintenance. Generally speaking, to clean OKITE® you only need to use a humid cloth. In case the surface is dirty, the usual daily cleaning products such as Marseilles soap are efficient.
SPECIFIC TREATMENTS FOR OKITE® TOP SURFACES.
In case of encrustations, sticky substances like chewing-gum, foods like mustard or curry and any other greasy or oily spots or water-base varnishes, delicately scrape the remain with a not sharp plastic spatula. Clean the OKITE® top with a non abrasive sponge and the new SMAC Superfici Moderne or with a kitchen cleanser, like Marseilles soap. Rinse with hot water and dry the surface with a clean cloth. Repeat if needed. Some of the colors of the Aida, Leonardo and/or Texture are sensitive to prints and oil spots and therefore a more accurate routine cleaning might be requested. For the daily regular cleaning, clean only with hot water and dry with a clean cloth. For grease or oil spots, use SMAC or a degreased product and leave it for 30 seconds. Rinse and dry with a clean cloth. For obstinate encrustations and spots, use a non-abrasive cream detergent with a humid sponge. Execute circular movements and clean the entire surface. Rinse with hot water and dry the surface with a clean cloth at the end. For any other spot that seems hard to remove with the ordinary cleaning, use the yellow part of a humid sponge – like Scotch-Brite® – and some detergent. In this case too, make circular moves and clean the entire area. Rinse with hot water and dry the surface with a clean cloth at the end. Attention: use this method only in case of need.
