For Michela: A kitchen solution integrated with the living room.

Good morning Architect, My name is Michela, I’m 24 and with my boyfriend we’re going to buy our first home. The apartment is still under construction so there is the possibility to move the connections to the various systems in the position that we consider more congenial. Unfortunately, as can be seen from the map that I send you, there is a very bulky pillar in the kitchen area and, for now, we have not been able to find a solution to this problem. Moreover, given also the modest size of the living area, we would like a kitchen solution that could also go to integrate the living room furniture to create a welcoming and modern environment. A kitchen solution integrated with the living room.

Good morning Mrs. Michela, I saw the map of the living area attached, the apartment is not very big but at 24 years with great pleasure going to live with the boyfriend is a decidedly important step. As you can better see in the sketch that I send you, the pillar in that position allows us “fortunately”, thanks to the distances in which it is positioned, to make a very simple intervention. We have inserted a corner column equipped as a pantry with extractable baskets sliding towards the outside; this allows us to go to occupy the blind corner with a structure in the column, of great storage capacity, so that the corner becomes the pantry of the whole kitchen. Each pull-out shelf of the column has a capacity of about 20 kg, this allows us to load every part with a large amount of things. Furthermore, the pillar can be covered with two panels of the same finish as the kitchen, so as to completely hide it and ensure that the kitchen becomes a common corner kitchen complete with everything. In addition to this, using the same finishes as the kitchen, we extended to the right with the furniture, to create a whole with the living area that also contains the TV; in this way in a small environment we have created a design harmony, adopting the same finishes.
